Introduction
Once code has been generated program testing begins. The testing process focuses on the logical internals of the software ensuring that all statements have been tested and on the functional externals that is conducted tests to uncover errors and ensure that defined input will produce actual results that agree with the required results.
Black box testing
In the black box testing the data to be tested is checked whether all the links are performing satisfactorily or not for such a testing the analyst feeds the data through web pages where ever considered and the actions of the links are verified although they are designed t uncover errors ,black box testing are used to demonstrate that software functions are operational that inputs is properly accepted and output is correctly produced and that the integrity of external information is maintained . This technique is used ranging from software testing to the web site testing
White box testing
White box testing is predicated on close examination of procedural details .logical paths through the software are tested by providing test cases tat exercise specific sets of condition or loops tests cases are designed along the testing
Feasibility Study
Operational Feasibility: As we are using latest Software Engg.Methodologies to develop bug sheets and they are easy to understand so they are easy to work on. We are using the Microsoft Excel Software to develop bug sheets. The Excel sheet will contain the test classes and error numbers .The test classes are the classes, which describe the module in which the error has occurred. The whole Software is divided into modules and each module is tested to find out the bugs. The test classes represent the modules. The modules having errors are also represented in the Excel sheet. The error no. generated by the computer is also provided for specific error detection
Technical Feasibility: This problem i.e. “UIIT Website Testing “is technically feasible, as it just requires knowledge of Software Engg. And Software Testing. Testing has also been implemented in Universities such as JNU, IGNOU, etc. so the problem is programmable. Some Websites Testing tools are available to us viz. Sample Microsoft Excel Bug sheets and therefore the project is technically feasible. The Technical Feasibility understands whether the problem can be solved technically with the help of computers.
Problem Definition
We have to test HPU Website for errors or bugs, which could be used for correcting Website and help in making Error free Website.
Bug Suggestion Sheets should have:
Page No/Module No: The Software to be tested is divided into modules. These modules are divided according to the work they do in the software. Here the software for us is the website. The website has pages to be represented in information. The user may not be aware of which page he is surfing. The Software Engg. has to keep track of the entire page no in which the information is displayed. The page no will help in knowing the errors with page no and this will help in an easy way to test the site and find bugs.
Bug ID: A bug is a Software failure. There are various names for Software failure i.e. defect, variance, fault, problem, inconsistency, error, feature, incident, bug anomaly. The Bug ID
is the identification ID of the bugs so that it can be detected with ease.
Test Case: A test case is the module of the test to be undertaken. The software is divided into modules and each module is to be tested .The cases, which are to be tested, are grouped in the Test Case. The test cases group various kinds of different bugs as a different module.
Action Performed: The Action Performed is the actions which are done when certain bug is occurred. The action is the process, which are done to remove the bugs.
Pass or Failed: It is the final column of the Excel Bug Sheet. If the error is removed then the column is declared Pass, otherwise Failed. The Failed can also determine that the error could not be removed.
Objective of the Project
Objective of the project is to provide Detail Bug and Suggestion Sheets that can be used for HPU Website correction and to create a bug free website. The project is to test the website. Once the code has been generated, program testing begins. The testing process focuses on the logical internals of the software ensuring that all statements have been tested and on the functional externals; that is, conducting tests to uncover errors and ensure that defined input will produce actual results that agree with required results.
Following are the testing objectives:
1) Testing is a process of executing a program with the intent of finding an error.
2) A good test case is one that has a high portability of finding an as –yet-undiscovered error.
3) A successful test is one that uncovers an as-yet-undiscovered error.
These objectives imply a dramatic change in view point. They move counter
To the commonly held view that a successful test is one in which no errors are found.
Our Objective is to design tests that systematically uncover different classes of error and to do so with a minimum amount of time and effort.
Testing Principles:
1) All tests should be traceable to customer requirements
2) Tests should be planned long before testing begins.
3) The Pareto principle applies to software testing.
4) Testing should begin in “in the small “and progress towards testing “in the large”.
5) Exhaustive testing is not possible.
6) To be most effective, an independent third party should conduct testing.
Technology Used
Microsoft Excel is used to create Bug Sheets and Microsoft word is used for making Suggestion Sheets.
Microsoft @ Excel 2000 is a copyright of Microsoft 1985-1999 Microsoft Corporation.
It has Correct Spell TM spelling correction system.

The test using the excel sheet has the following column:
1) Bug ID
2) Test case
3) Bug Description
4) Module/page
5) Severity
6) Corrective Action
7) Status
Testing Tools (If Applicable)
HPU website will be tested manually and there will be not be usage of any automated tools for testing this application.
Test Environment
Specify the necessary and desired properties in of the test environment configuration.
