Many human mental activities, such as writing computer programs, doing math, engaging in common sense reasoning, understanding language, and even driving a car are said to require "intelligence." In the last decades, several computer systems have been built that can perform tasks like these. Specifically, there are computer systems that can diagnose diseases, plan the synthesis of complex organic chemical compounds, solve differential equations in symbolic form, analyze electronic circuits, understand limited amounts of human speech and natural language text or write small computer programs to comply with formalities budget. We could say that these systems possess some degree of artificial intelligence. Most of the work in the construction of such systems has taken place in the field called Artificial Intelligence (AI) (Nilsson, 1980). Most AI programs are rather complex objects and mastering their complexity is an important research goal. An exhaustive study of the problems that exist in AI programs requires a precise formalization to be able to perform detailed analyzes to obtain satisfactory solutions (Bourbakis, 1992).
Renewable energy solutions are becoming increasingly popular. Photovoltaic (solar) systems are just one example. Maximizing the output power of a solar system is desirable to increase efficiency. In order to maximize the output power of the solar panels, it is necessary to keep the panels aligned with the sun. As such, a means of tracking the sun is required. This is a much more cost effective solution than buying additional solar panels. It has been estimated that the performance of solar panels can be increased by 30 to 60 percent by using a tracking system instead of a stationary set. This project develops an automatic tracking system that will keep the solar panels aligned with the sun to maximize efficiency. The PC will calculate the Zenith and Azimuth angle of the sun depending on the latitude, longitude and the current time zone. The control system will rotate the panel up and down and also from right to left according to the angles as if the panel is aligned vertically with the solar position. This approach will provide maximum utilization of the solar beam for maximum energy. The document continues with specific design methodologies regarding photocells, stepper motors and controllers, selection of control systems, voltage regulation, physical construction and explanation of software / system operation.
