Air pollution is more important from public health, as each person breathes approximately 22,000 times a day, inhaling about 15 to 22 kg of air daily. Contaminated air causes a bad physical effect that determines the undesirable aesthetic and physiological effects. Air pollution can be defined as the addition to our atmosphere of any material, which will have a dexterous effect on life on our planet. The main pollutants that cars bring are carbon monoxide (CO), unburned hydrocarbon (UBHC), nitrogen oxides (NOx) and lead. Cars are not the only sources of air pollution, other sources such as power plants, industrial and domestic consumption of fuels, burning of garbage, industrial processing, etc. Also contribute greatly to environmental pollution, so it is imperative to seriously try to conserve our environment from degradation.


An Aqua Silencer is an attempt, in this direction, that is mainly control of emission and noise. An Aqua muffler is installed in the exhaust pipe of the engine. The sound produced underwater is less audible than that produced in the atmosphere. This mainly due to the small pine nuts in water molecules, which lowers their amplitude therefore decreases the sound level. Due to this property water is used in this silencer and hence its name AQUA SILENCER. The noise and smoke level is considerably lower than the conventional muffler, it is cheaper, it does not need a catalytic converter and it is easy to install. It is imperative that serious attempts are made to conserve the terrestrial environment from degradation. An aqua muffler is an attempt in this direction; It is mainly emission control and noise. Diesel engines play a vital role in road and maritime transport, agriculture, mining and many other industries. Taking into account the available fuel resources and the current technological development, diesel is obviously indispensable. In general, fuel consumption is an index to find out the economic strength of any country. Inspire, we can not ignore the harmful effects of the great mass of the burned gases, which erodes the purity of our environment every day. It is especially so, in most developed countries like USA. And Europe. While, constant research is starting to reduce the toxic content of diesel exhaust, diesel power groups find growing applications and demand. This project is an attempt to reduce the toxic content of diesel exhaust, before being emitted into the atmosphere.

This system can be used safely for diesel power groups that could be used in flammable atmospheres, such as refineries, chemical processing industries, open pit mines and other confined areas, which necessitates the need for diesel generators. To achieve this, toxic gases must be reduced to acceptable limits before they are emitted outside this atmosphere, which would otherwise be dangerous and accident prone.
The principle involved is to bubble the exhaust gases through the wash tank containing an alkaline solution, here the temperature of the gases is reduced, while most of the nitrogen oxides in the exhaust become non-toxic. Highly hazardous carbon monoxide is not a threat to diesel exhaust, as it does not exceed 0.2 percent by volume, while in gasoline engines CO content can reach 10 percent. A lime stone vessel in the scrub tank reduces the considerable amount of sulfur dioxide present in the exhaust.

The provision of suitable baffles in the scrub tank assists turbulence so that thorough scrubbing is performed. The bell-mouth solution, while reducing back pressure. To measure the contents of the exhaust gases, samples are taken between the engine outlet and the inlet of the scrubber and after the scrubber outlet before the gases are released into the atmosphere. These sampling points allow us to measure the exhaust gas content before and after washing. The difference is evaluated and effective control is initiated.
