Crushing is the process of removing the metal by the application of abrasives which are joined to form a rotating wheel when the moving abrasive particles come into contact with the workpiece, act as tiny cutting tools, cutting each particle a tiny chip Of the workpiece. In cylindrical grinding, the workpiece rotates about a fixed axis and the machined surfaces are concentric to said axis of rotation.
