Automatic system of notification of location of bus using a microcontroller and GPS

Wireless communication can be defined as the transfer of information between two or more points without the need for cables or cables. There are different wireless technologies like RFID, IR, GPS, Bluetooth, WI-FI, etc. In the old days, the placement announcement was made with the help of loudspeakers, but now it is developed using IVRS at railway stations. Nowadays the location of the bus can be found with the help of geographic positioning satellites.

This bus placement advertising system is very useful for illiterate and new people for cities. This system can be applied in different areas such as transport companies, public trains, private travel, government travel agencies, service organizations, etc.

The implication of GPS in finding the location of the bus

The global positioning system is a satellite-based navigation system that is used to locate positions anywhere on the planet. This type of technology can be used in various areas such as military, commercial and civilian use throughout the world. GPS can be used for these purposes: trilateration, perfect synchronization, satellite positioning and connection of errors. Here is the general example that describes the use of GPS:

Bus location
To locate the distance between two locations and to know the furthest distance from another location, the GPS is used for the exact location, such as latitude, longitude and height, on the ground, in the range of 20m to 1mm.
Most citizens prefer buses for a long distance trip to avoid accidents. When a bus arrives at a station, it is a big problem for many passengers to know the destination. To overcome this problem, a bus location advertising system is the best option as it informs us about the location of the bus using GPS technology. A system of this type using GPS technology is explained practically in the following paragraphs.

The GPS receiver concept is based on the position and timing signals sent by the satellites and the information can be transmitted in such a way that a message is transmitted at a certain time and position of the satellite during the transmission of the message.

The GPS system consists of three segments: spatial segment, control segment and user segment. The space and control segments are operated, developed and maintained by the US Air Force; User segment includes military and civilian users and their GPS equipment.

GPS system
Space segment: It comprises 24 satellites of which 21 are space navigation vehicles and 3 are active reserve devices orbiting at an altitude of 11000 nautical miles. These satellites are stable and predictable due to their high altitude. This system consists of six orbital planes that are equally placed at 60 degrees and inclined at about 55 degrees at the equatorial plane.

Control Segment: This segment comprises a master control station, an alternate motor control station, four ground antennas and six monitoring stations. These monitoring stations are placed around the world, to measure the signal of the space vehicles that are incorporated in an orbital model of each satellite. Dedicated antennas are used to transmit signals to satellites.

User Segment: This system consists of receivers that can be handheld or installed on aircraft, ships, submarines, automobiles and trucks. Receivers can decode, detect and process signals to satellites. These signals can be changed in speed, position and time. This segment can be used in different applications such as military, shipping, topography, satellite positioning and tracking.
