The work described in this paper develops and demonstrates an analog-to-digital conversion technique based on an electronic device that is used to detect gas leaks using mechanical sensors in homes, industries, vehicles, gas stations, etc. where leakage detection of Gas is an Important to avoid any uncertainty. The device consists of a processing section that takes input, processes it and provides output. Corresponding to this output, the extraction fan is started and the light emitting diode (LED) is turned on. If the gas concentration exceeds a certain level, the buzzer (alarm) is started, the gas supply is switched off and notified To the consumer by sending an alert message through the monitoring computer. The gas concentration level for a particular operating area will be stored in Matlab "Database Explorer Tool" in order to obtain an overview of the gas status of this area for future analysis, such as accident probability and so on.
The MQ-5 semiconductor sensor is Gas Sensitive Fuel. The MQ-5 gas sensor is made up of SnO2 which has a lower conductivity in clean air. Here a simple electrocircuit is used which is used to convert the changing conductivity into a corresponding output signal of gas concentration. Both methane and propane can be easily detected by the MQ-5 sensor, as it has a high sensitivity to methane, propane and butane. It is a low cost sensor suitable for different applications.

As shown in the above schematic diagram, it contains the Arduino card, the GAS GPL sensor module, the buzzer and the 16x2 LCD module. Arduino controls the entire process of this system such as reading the output of the LPG gas sensor module, sending messages to the LCD screen and activating the buzzer. We can set the sensitivity of this sensor module by the built-in potentiometer placed on it.
The DO pin of the LPG gas sensor module is directly connected to Arduino pin 18 (A4) and Vcc and GND are connected to Arduino Vcc and GND. The LPG gas sensor module consists of an MQ3 sensor that detects the LPG gas. This MQ3 sensor has a heater inside that needs a little heater supply to heat up and can take up to 15 minutes to prepare for the detection of LPG gas. And a comparator circuit is used to convert the analog output of MQ3 to digital. A 16x2 LCD is connected with arduino in 4-bit mode. The control pin RS, RW and En are connected directly to the arduino pin 2, GND and 3. And the data pin D0-D7 is connected to arduino 4, 5, 6, 7. A buzzer is connected to the arduino pin number 13 through an NPN transistor BC547 which has a resistance of 1 k at its base.
