Gas leaks resulting from fatal hell have become a serious problem in the home and other areas where domestic gas is handled and used. Gas leakage leads to several accidents resulting in economic losses, as well as injuries and / or human losses. The work aims to design a system that detects gas leakage and alert the subscriber through alarm and status display, in addition to turning off the gas supply valve as a primary safety measure. The shut off of the supply valve stops the extra gas flow into the cooker to prevent the fire outbreak resulting from an attempt to power the cooker. The system, more akin to first aid, automatically uses a normally closed solenoid valve to turn off the gas valve before requesting help through the visual display and audible alarm to those within the environment. The system is an intelligent system as it does not create a noise disturbance by alarm sounding continuously but the alarm stops ringing once the concentration of the gas in the atmosphere after the leak goes below the setpoint and opens the valve Again for normal operations. This work will minimize injury / loss from explosions due to gas leaks and will improve the safety of life and property while using domestic cooking gas.
Here is a gas leak detection circuit that detects LPG gas leakage and alerts the user through audio visual signals. The circuit runs on a 9V PP3 battery. Zener diode ZD1 is used to convert 9V into 5V DC to drive the gas sensor module.
The gas leakage circuit uses the RhydoLABZ gas sensor module SEN-1327. Its output is high when the gas level reaches or exceeds a certain point. A preset on the module is used to set the threshold. The interconnection with the sensor module is done through a 4-pin SIP header.

The details of the pins of the gas sensor module are shown in Fig. 2. An MQ-6 gas sensor is used in the gas sensor module. The sensor can also be used to detect combustible gases, especially methane.

Whenever there is a GLP concentration of 1000 ppm (parts per million) in the area, the output pin of the sensor module becomes high. This signal triggers the IC 555 timer, which is wired as an astable multivibrator. The multivibrator basically works as a tone generator.
The output pin 3 of the IC 555 is connected to the LED1 and the switching transistor of the speaker SL100 via the current limiting resistors R5 and R4, respectively. LED1 shines and the alarm sounds to alert the user to gas leaks. The tone of the tone can be changed by varying the preset VR1. Use a heat sink suitable for the SL100 transistor.
