The frictionless compressor technology is the compressor with the application of magnetic bearings and the permanent magnet synchronous motor. In the frictionless compressor instead of roller bearings and hydrodynamic bearings, magnetic bearings are used. Magnetic bearings consume less energy and there is no need for oil and lubrication systems. The permanent magnet brushless synchronous motor has permanent magnet instead of copper coils.
The frictionless compressor is also the first fully oil free compressor designed specifically for the heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVACR) industry. Variable speed centrifugal compression and digital electronic technologies enable frictionless compressors (nominal capacity range from 60 to 150 tons) to achieve the highest compressor efficiencies, cost-effectively, for air-cooled HVACR applications. The proven energy-efficiency advantages of variable-speed centrifugal compressors are now brought to the main mid-market applications by using high-speed, two-stage centrifugal compression with integrated variable speed drive. The compressor speed is reduced as the condensing temperature and / or the heat load decreases, optimizing the energy performance over the entire operating range from 100% to 20% or less of rated capacity.
The centrifugal compressor of the magnetic bearing eliminates the friction stealing inherent efficiency in the traditional centrifugal cooler. Integrated VFD optimizes part load efficiency, a key performance feature since most coolers operate at a partial load of 99% of their life. Guaranteed sustainable performance for the life of the cooler.
Positive pressure, oil-free design eliminates degradation of performance due to non-condensable contamination and refrigerant oil. Easy integration with our choice of open options using BACnet, LonWorks or Modbus communications without an expensive panel. R-134a refrigerant has no exhaust potential or phase = out program. Reduction of maintenance costs due to oil removal.
Oil system, purge system and shaft seals are in the order of technology coolers. The small footprint of the unit helps the magnitude cooler to fit where space is limited, making it ideal for retrofit projects. Unparalleled discharge with integrated VFDs, as the integrated digital control reduces the speed of the compressor to match the load. The low starting current at start-up is ideal for operation with backup or emergency power systems. The operator panel of the touch screen is intuitive and easy to use graphically for greater operator productivity. Status and control information is available at a glance or touch.
