"By using NI Lab-view as a motor controller, we can control a multi-purpose DC motor using only one software environment. With a single button in Lab-view, a DC motor can start, stop and rotate in any desired direction In addition, we can easily adjust the position by turning a virtual knob in the Lab-view software to rotate the motor shaft to the desired angle.
The speed of a DC motor can be controlled using Lab-view without complex circuits or costly sensors. The DC motor is interconnected with the computer with Lab-view installed on it using myDAQ. This work deals with the methodology of control of the speed of the motor of the direct current through the method of pulse width modulation (PWM). PWM signals can be generated as a digital signal, using counters or digital output lines, or as an analog signal, using, for example, an arbitrary waveform generator. Variations in the signal duty cycle cause a change in engine speed. DAQ acquires motor ripple current which is used as feedback element. PID control is a universally accepted control algorithm that is widely used in industries. The PID controller is where Lab-view is used to control the required DC motor speed.
