SixthSense is a portable computer system based on the gesture developed in MIT Media Lab by Steve Mann in 1994 and 1997 (worn-out gesture interface), and 1998 (neckworn version), and developed by Pranav Mistry (also at MIT Media Lab) in 2009, Both developed both hardware and software for both hooded versions and neckband applications. It consists of a worn pendant or neck that contains both a data projector and the camera. Headworn versions were built at the MIT Media Lab in 1997 (by Mann) combining cameras and lighting systems for interactive photo art, and included gesture recognition (for example, finger tracking using colored tape on Fingers).
SixthSense is a name for additional information provided by a laptop, such as the device called EyeTap (Mann), Telepointer (Mann), and "WuW" (using your world) by Pranav Mistry. Sixth Sense is a usable gestural interface that enhances the physical world that surrounds us with digital information and allows us to use natural hand gestures to interact with that information. It is based on the concepts of augmented reality and has well implemented perceptions of it. Sixth-sense technology has integrated real-world objects with the digital world. The fabulous 6th sense technology is a blend of many exquisite technologies. What makes it great is the wonderful integration of all those technologies and presents it in a single portable and economical product. It associates technologies such as recognition of hand gestures, image capture, processing and manipulation, etc. It superimposes the digital world in the real world.
