Walia International Machines Corporation has provided innovative solutions to the Indian Construction industry with superior products, services and technology. The company has launched Fiber Reinforced Concrete technology for concrete, mortar and screed applications using polypropylene and steel fibre in India. Walia fiber Reinforced Concrete (WIRC) is the only best suited technology for new and old concrete pavement and road construction. Walia Fibercon-CF a 100 percent polypropylene fiber product manufactured by company has a high resistance to acids and alkalies and is more durable as compared to local fibers available in the market. Polypropylene fibers mixed uniformly in the concrete and mortar on one hand reduce plastic shrinkage and settlement of cracks and on the other hand increase impact resistance and improve workability of concrete. WFRC with polypropylene achieves almost all the desired properties of concrete. A thickness of 75-150 mm fiber reinforced concrete is good enough for the wearing coats and overlays on the existing base. Fig (1) shows the polypropylene fibres. Fiber reinforced concrete has proven record as an effective alternative to traditional methods of constructing reinforced concrete slabs. It can enable faster, simpler construction, improved crack distribution and help to protect weak areas of the slab such as joint asris. In more demanding situations such as heavy duty industrial buildings performances can be improved resulting in large potential savings in maintenance costs. Eg:- Use of fibre reinforced concrete in suspended floor slabs.
