Radio frequency identification
Radio frequency identification (RFID) is a generic term that is used to describe a system that transmits the identity (in the form of a unique serial number) of an object or person wirelessly, using radio waves.
It's grouped under the broad category of automatic identification technologies.
The control station consists of
Vehicle identifier (active RFID transponder) – to detect the location of the bus .
Mounting accessories
Signalization equipment– to transmit the signal to other bus stops.
OPERATING DEMENDS
Every bus must have its own identification device (tag).
Every identification device has a unique code.
Immediate update of data is bestowed to the supervisor.
System must have an expansion possibility, as to amplify the number of check points and buses.
Range of the radio frequency:
Range is depending upon the desired power output.
For a distance ranging from 1 to 10kms High Frequency Wave is suitable (3 to 30 MHz)
