On the one hand, Government hospitals are sick with fewer nurses on the other, it has not been conducting the MHN-CWT direct recruitment test over the past two years. This year is not in the mood to do the same.
Directorate of Medical Education and Research, the Government of Maharashtra conducts MHN CWT Examination for Recruitment of Personnel Nurses. The qualification for which is General Nursing and Obstetrics 3 or 3 1/2 years Diploma or Basic of Bachillerato. Nursing degree course of 4 years. The diploma / bachelor course must be approved by the institution located in the state of Maharashtra and recognized by the Maharashtra Council of Nursing, Mumbai / Maharashtra University of Health Sciences Nasik / University located in the state of Maharashtra.
DMER had conducted such a test in 2014, the result of which was declared in February 2015. About 50,000 candidates had appeared in it. According to sources, the Government is making appointments based on the result of the ACS conducted in 2014. The criterion of nominating nurses in government hospitals is better known by the authorities.
Some of the experts raised doubts about the quality of nurses like the DMER who named the old ones who appeared in 2014 and do not go for the new ones who have passed their respective qualifications in the following years.
With respect to the recruitment process, the Government had issued a Government Resolution (GR) in which it had clearly stated that any score obtained in any examination relating to any recruitment is valid for one year only. Since the score obtained in the 2014 exam must be valid until 2015 only. Shockingly Government is conducting recruitment based on the score earned by candidates in 2014 MHN-CWT.
When contacted by Dr. Pravin Shingare, director of the Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER) told The Hitavada: "According to government rules once, the examination is carried out, then your merit list is valid For one year. The validity of the waiting list is counted not from the date of the examination, but from the date of the declaration of results, so we are doing absolutely according to the rules.
According to well-placed sources, the government has restricted the filling of posts to 50 percent. The DMER is defenseless until this restriction is lifted and therefore can not perform fresh CET. Government hospitals have failed to maintain the ratio of one nurse to three patients in general and one nurse to one patient in the ICU. Currently a nurse is caring for almost 80 patients.
