ABSTRACT
The Hydro Electric Power Plant consists of various equipments. Among these the governor is considered as backbone of the hydro electric power plant. The basic function of the governor is to maintain the constant turbine speed under all working conditions. The governor is highly helpful while considering the normal and grid failure conditions.
The present work is carried out at Srisailam Hydro Electric Power Plant, which is located on the Krishna River, in Kurnool District. The Srisailam Hydro Electric Power Plant is equipped with Electro Hydraulic Governor-100. In this present work the study of EHG-100 is carried out. This study gives the complete idea of the working principle and functions of EHG-100 during normal and grid failure conditions.
The project work has been carried out in 3 stages. In first stage overview and description of the Hydro Electric Plant is studied. Then in second stage the working principle and function of Electro Hydraulic Governor-100 is studied. For easy understanding of EHG-100 the circuit diagrams are also presented. Then in the final stage the actual outputs are compared with theoretical values of speed measuring unit, control amplifier, Booster amplifier, Droop Unit and various feed backs from the electronic cabinet and Hydro Mechanical cabinet of the Governor and results are recorded. The various graphs are plotted. .
