Abstract:

In this paper, the analysis of the sample of the Aged Aged Ordnance has been described to investigate the process of degradation of the insulation of the elderly transformer. Short-term quick aging was used on paper-coated insulated conductor and press board samples. The condition of the older insulation samples was examined by two relatively new diagnostic techniques: (A) the measurement of interfaciel polarization spectra by the DC method; And (B) measurement of molecular weight and its distribution by gel permeable chromatography (GPC). Several other electrical properties of paper / pressboard specimens were also studied. Potential relations between different measured properties have been examined. GPC results have been estimated that how power transformer insulation with temperature and time changes molecular weight.
