Effective Collaboration with Information Sharing in Virtual Universities
#1

Abstract :-
A global education system, as a key area in future IT, has fostered developers to provide various learning systems with low cost. While a variety of e-learning advantages has been recognized for a long time and many advances in e-learning systems have been implemented, the needs for effective information sharing in a secure manner have to date been largely ignored, especially for virtual university collaborative environments. Information sharing of virtual universities usually occurs in broad, highly dynamic network-based environments, and formally accessing the resources in a secure manner poses a difficult and vital challenge. This paper aims to build a new rule-based framework to identify and address issues of sharing in virtual university environments through role-based access control (RBAC) management. The framework includes a role-based group delegation granting model, group delegation revocation model, authorization granting, and authorization revocation. We analyze various revocations and the impact of revocations on role hierarchies. The implementation with XML-based tools demonstrates the feasibility of the framework and authorization methods. Finally, the current proposal is compared with other related work

Abstract
Sharing the information in knowledge based fields like IT has different developers to provide various learning systems with low cost. While a variety of e-learning advantages has been recognized for a long time and many advances in e-learning systems have been implemented, the needs for effective information sharing in a secure manner have to date been largely ignored, especially for virtual university collaborative environments.Eventhough there is possibility to share information which is not secured. So, The Information sharing of virtual universities usually occurs in broad, highly dynamic network-based environments, and formally accessing the resources in a secure manner poses a difficult and vital challenge. This project aims to build a new regulation-based framework to recognize and tackle issues of distribution in virtual university environments through role-based access control (RBAC) management. The framework includes a role-based group delegation granting model, group delegation revocation model, authorization granting, and authorization revocation and implemented using XML.The users information is stored in an xml and to retrieve easily. The main idea or usage of xml we can add the user’s information in future if there is no database found.
1. INTRODUCTION
E-LEARNING, as a significant modern education and learning approach and tool, is defined as learning activities performed over electronic devices Virtual universities are becoming strongly networked and fundamental changes in the organization of education are occurring. Geographical isolation is no longer a factor for virtual universities. Students may study courses and complete qualifications from all over the world without leaving their homes or work offices. The collaboration within a virtual university is found to be a beneficial and enjoyable component of offering a course, but a source of frustration at the same time. Students’ evaluations show that the perceived best and worst aspect of the course is communications between and within each partner in the virtual university. Students are sincerely motivated by the expertise of lecturers but obviously dissatisfied with their collaborations regarding access and updating study materials. The major problem is that students find it difficult to coordinate their schedules at their own university when study materials provided by the university are postponed. Furthermore, the collaborative partners in the virtual university are often distributed and their collaboration occurs across highly dynamic Internet-based environments, and formally accessing the subject materials in a secure manner poses a difficult and vital challenge.
1.1PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The project entitled as “Effective Collaboration with Information Sharing in Virtual Universities” developed using .NET using C#. Modules display as follows.
• Management.
• Students
• Role Delegation.
• Role Revocation.
• Upload and Download Materials.
Management Login:
The Valid user (Professor, Lecturer, Staff) enter into login to send data or information to any person in the virtual university(collaboration of 3 universities).
In this Module each and every one will have own user id and password to log in .
Using their Id they can login to any other university which is in collaboration with virtual universities. The information about particular professor or lecturer is displayed in their login, apart from that they have three responsibilities of delegation, revocation of roles and uploading new software’s and materials.
Students Login:
Students enter into login to upload and download any subject materials by their provided student Id and they can ask any queries related to subjects to any staff working in the virtual university.
Role Delegation:
The Member of the virtual university can delegate his/her role and also belowed role to other member in virtual university. So he/she cant able to delegate the role to the senior authorities.
Role Revocation.
The Member of the virtual university can revoke his/her role for which he/she already delegated or assigned role to other member in virtual university. So he/she cant able to revoke the role to the senior authorities.
