Eenadu is a Hindu Telugu language newspaper which is Telugu's largest circulation newspaper in the state of Andhra Pradesh and the state of Telangana in India. According to the Survey of Indian Readers (IRS) Q1 2012, Eenadu is ranked number six among Indian language journals with a total readership (TR) of 5,906,000. Eenadu ("This day"; "This country", which has two meanings in Telugu) was founded by the Indian media baron Ramoji Rao in 1974. The rapid expansion of Eenadu allowed the diversification of its portfolio by venturing into other markets, such as finance and chit funds (for example, Margadarsi chits), food (Priya Foods), film production (Usha Kiran Films), film distribution (Mayuri Films) and a group of television channels (ETV). All businesses are organized under the Ramoji Group.

Initially, Eenadu's circulation was limited. When it was launched in the city of Visakhapatnam, it could not sell more than 3,000 copies per week. Eenadu found himself struggling to become a daily publication classified among othlication. However, it was popular in the regions and rivalry was still a problem. Eenadu hired a new group of directors to be part of its key decision and management group, which led it to what it is today: the newspaper with the largest circulation in the region.

Eenadu was launched from Visakhapatnam in 1974 by Ramoji Rao, an entrepreneur with other successful companies: Priya Pickles and Margadarsi Chitfunds. At that time, Andhra Prabha, owned by Indian Express Group, was the main regional newspaper.

Eenadu started with a print order of 4,000 copies, composed by hand and produced with a second-hand printing press. But by the time he was admitted to the Audit Bureau of Circulations in 1976, his circulation had already reached the readers of 48,000. In 1978, Eenadu surpassed the circulation of Andhra Prabha and, by 1995, two other rivals, Andhra Patrika and Udayam, withdrew, leaving Eenadu with more than seventy-five percent of the Telugu telios' audited circulation.

When Eenadu expanded to Hyderabad in 1975, he divided the city into target areas, recruited delivery children three months in advance, and gave away the newspaper for free for a week. During the 1980s, the technology allowed Eenadu to expand into larger areas in addition to the main cities. Previously, it was difficult to manage even the three editions of the 70s (the Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada and Hyderabad editions) because the only communication facilities available for publication at that time were the telegram, the telephone and the teletype, which had a limited presence in rural Andhra Pradesh. But with the introduction of offset printing, photocomposition software and computers, Eenadu was able to launch editions in smaller cities such as Tirupathi in 1982. Since the 1980s, Eenadu's news editor, from his office in Hyderabad, oversaw a huge base of local news. and disseminating the organization.

However, by the end of the eighties, six important Telugu newspapers were being carried out, and the business was highly competitive. In 1989, Eenadu introduced the "district newspapers (tabloid edition)" to bring their presence not only to the cities of the district such as Rajamundry, Karimnagar, Guntur and Adilabad, but also to taluka cities such as Suryapet and Tadepalligudem. Each publishing center required forty engineers to run their printing presses. Eenadu district newspapers were based on market research that pretended that heavy local content would generate new groups of readers and increase advertising revenue. Currently, district newspapers print local news specifically for each important location in the area, which overrides the need for a separate local newspaper. A special section is published every day of the week.
