CHAPTER-1
INTRODUCTION
ABOUT THE SYSTEM
Today’s world computer had a considerable impact on many aspects of our society. By computerizing a system we can reduce the time consuming and strain of peoples. Computers can be mainly applied to areas where the work is merely repetitive in nature.
In my project, I aimed to computerize the “Education Consultancy Management System”. The seeker who entered into the office, he can log on to software and search for the details of colleges and courses that he wants. If a person couldn’t know about the basic knowledge of a computer configuration, even he can easily handle the software.
CHAPTER-2
SYSTEM ANALYSIS
2.1 ABOUT EXISTING SYSTEM
Existing system is maintained manually and contains lots of hand written registers. Different registers are maintained separately for different processing like student registration, college registration, course and fee details and so on.
Existing System Disadvantages
It takes a lot of time since it has been done manually.
Searching a particular record is tedious work.
It takes a lot of paper work for completion.
To take reports we have to write or type each and every time.
Backup is very difficult. Records cannot be maintained for many years.
Retrieval of records is also difficult in case of manual processing.
Lot of manpower is needed.
2.2 ABOUT PROPOSED SYSTEM
Proposed system is computerized system developed using VB.6.0 as front-end and Oracle 9i as back-end. All the record manipulation are performed very quickly and accurately and displayed in the screen that helps the user to make data entry very accurately.
Main features of the System:
Greater processing speed.
Faster information retrieval.
Avoidance of Human errors.
Menu Driven, User friendly and easy to use.
Generalized processing logic.
Flexibility for future upgradation.
Usage of papers, registers and ledgers are reduced.
More accuracy in Results.
Updations are provided for the System Administrator for the up-to-date information storing.
The new system is also fast and efficient in giving up-to-date information. It is more accurate and less amount of time is required to do the work than the manual system. More over new system is also able to produce, detailed reports in an efficient way.
CHAPTER-3
FEASIBILITY STUDY
Feasibility study is performed to choose the system that meets the performance requirements at least cost. The most essential task performed by a feasibility study is the identification and description of candidate system, the evolution of the candidate system and the selection of the best of the candidate system. The best system means the system that meet performance requirements at the least cost. The most difficult part of a feasibility study is the identification of the candidate system and the evaluation of their performances and cost. The system has no additional expense to implement the system. The new system has advantages such as we can easily access files from any client in the network, accurate output for accurate input and this application is more user friendly. We can use this application not only in this organization but also in other firms so it is worth solving the problem.
The Feasibility study categorize as follows:-
• Technical Feasibility.
• Economical Feasibility.
• Operational Feasibility.
Technical Feasibility
Technical feasibility study is performed to check whether the proposed system is technical feasible or not. Technical feasibility centers
around the existing computer system (H/W, S/W etc) and to what extent it can support proposed addition. This involves financial consideration to
accommodate technical enhancement. This system is technically feasible. All the datas are stored in files. The output can we done through dialog boxes which are both interactive and user friendly. Hard copies can be obtained for future use, the diverting the documents to a printer. Windows serves as the platform for the new system
