Deemed University
*Deemed University is a status of autonomy granted by the Department of Higher Education on the advice of the UGC
*An institution of Higher Education working at a very high standard in specific area of study, can be declared by the Central Government on the advice of the UGC as Deemed - to be university
*There are two institutions in Kerala with deemed university status
*Deemed universities in Kerala:
Ans : Kerala Kalamandalam, Cheruthuruthy Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology, Trivandrum
*Autonomous academic' institution established in 2001 for scientific research in Archaeology, History and Social Sciences
Ans : KCHR (Kerala Council for Historic Research), Trivandrum
*Chairman of KCHR
Ans : Prof. K.N. Panikkar
*The project launched at Government Vocational Higher Secondary Schools for girls (GVHSS), Nadakkavu to improve the infrastructure and overall environment of Government schools

*Honours Degree Courses were introduced in four Government Colleges
