DEFINITION:
“An echo is the repetition of a sound caused
by the reflection of sound waves”
TYPES OF ECHO:
There are two main types of echo:
Acoustic Echo (audio conferencing speaker and its microphone)
Hybrid Echo (On a PSTN)
ECHO CANCELLATION
The process used to remove echo from a voice communication in order to improve voice quality.
BENEFIT:
Echo cancellation increases the capacity achieved through silence suppression by preventing echo from a distant place.
Echo canceller vendors are developing new high-density solutions to minimize the cost, space, and power consumption required per voice channel.
AIM:
The prime objective of echo canceller is to improve clarity of audio/speech signal.
WHY ECHO CANCELLER SOFTWARE ?
Since now it has been implemented using hardware and is costly. So to avoid that a software based implementation is needed.
