E-BOMB


Abstract:

The world today is immensely dependent on electricity. Working of any induvial or any company or even a government is dependent on electricity and the various devices that utilize it. The chaos caused due to the absence of electricity is well known. An electromagnetic bomb, or e-bomb, is a weapon designed to take advantage of dependency on electricity and other electronic devices. But instead of simply cutting off power in an area, an e-bomb would actually destroy most machines that use electricity. Generators would be useless, cars wouldn't run, and there would be no chance of making a phone call.
The basic principle of e-bomb is the EMP which in effect is a electromagnetic shock wave. This pulse of energy produces a powerful electromagnetic field, particularly within the vicinity of the weapon burst. The field can be sufficiently strong to produce short lived transient voltages of thousands of Volts (i.e. kilovolts) on exposed electrical conductors, such as wires, or conductive tracks on printed circuit boards, where exposed. Hence e bombs can be used as Weapons of Electrical Mass Destruction without effecting the human health amd hence can be a great use to the military.
