The electric power is generated in different power plants. These plants are not necessarily located in the load center. During planning the construction of the generation station the following factors to consider for the economic generation of electric power.
1. Easy availability of water for the thermal power generation station.
2. Easy availability of land for the construction of the power station including its staff township.
3. For the hydroelectric plant there must be a dam in the river. So the right place in the river should be chosen in such a way that the construction of the dam can be done in the most optimal way.
4. For thermal power station easy availability of fuel is one of the most important factors to consider.
5. Better communication for the goods as well as the employees of the power station should also be taken into account.
6. For the transportation of very large spare parts of turbines, alternators, etc., there must be wide road paths, train communication, and the deep and wide river must pass close to the power station.
7. For the nuclear power station, it should be located at such a distance from the common location, so that some effect of the nuclear reaction on the health of ordinary people can occur.
