Microstrip antenna for mobile phones
There are several types of microstrip antennas used in telecommunication. These are also known as printed antennas. The microstrip antenna radiator shapes which xcare commonly seen are square, rectangular, circular and elliptical but it is also posible to create radiator of any continuous shape. mobile radio communications devices extensively use this antenna because of their low profile, are mechanically rugged and can be conformable. They are also relatively inexpensive to manufacture due to their 2D geometry. They are suited for UHF and higher frequencies applications. The wavelength at the resonance frequency are directly related to the size of the antenna. phased array of antennas with dynamic beamforming ability can be easily created from an array of patch antennas.
The use of microstrip antennas fo mobile phones is mainly necessitated by the radiation hazard to the user. This necessitates the requirement for an antenna, which reduces the high specific absorption rate (SAR). The main advantage is that of reduced radiation to-
