Dinamalar is a Tamil national newspaper. It was founded by T. V. Ramasubbaiyer in 1951. Dinamalar has an average circulation of 9,42,812 (ABC from January to June 2016). Dinamalar is not aligned with any political party or religious organization. He is famous for his strictly conscientious reports and for fearless exposing social defects and perpetrators.
Dinamalar was founded by T. V. Ramasubbaiyer on 6 September 1951 in Thiruvananthapuram. The operations were moved to Tirunelveli in 1957. New publishing and printing units were opened in Tirunelveli (1957), Tiruchi (1966), Chennai (1979), Madurai (1980), Erode (1984), Pondicherry (1991), Coimbatore 1992). ), Vellore (1993), Nagercoil (1996), Salem (2000).
In October 2009, Dinamalar published an article stating that several Tamil film actresses were involved in prostitution along with photos and names. The Southern Indian Film Artists Association requested the arrest of the senior subeditor and organized a demonstration to condemn it. Lenin's deputy editor was arrested. He was released the following day by protests from the Chennai Press Club, Madras Union of Journalists, Press Trust of India and The Indian Newspaper Society. Dinamalar said that the news was obtained from ethical sources and that there was no secondary agenda.
