A primary goal of IAHTI is to provide human trafficking training to law enforcement officers and prosecutors around the world so they can more effectively identify victims, charge traffickers and successfully prosecute human trafficking cases.
Since 2009, IAHTI has provided training for more than 1,000 investigators in 10 countries and two U.S. Territories, with those numbers growing every year.
What makes IAHTI different from related organizations is that all of our trainers are active and retired city, county, state and federal human trafficking investigators. Rather than sharing conceptual knowledge based on a handbook, IAHTI’s trainers bring real-world experience gained in the field.
IAHTI has presented for many national and international groups, including the National Institute of Justice, the Office for Victims of Crime Technical Training Assistance Center, and the U.S. State Department. In 2010, the founders of IAHTI assisted the National Institute of Justice with preparing a report for Congress.
