DG Vaishnav College (Dwarka Doss Goverdhan College Doss Vaishnav), commonly known as DGVC, is a liberal university of arts, commerce and science in Chennai, India. It is an autonomous institution affiliated with the University of Madras.
DG Vaishnav College was affiliated to the University of Madras, however the College has been conferred the status of "AUTONOMY" by the UGC and approved by the University of Madras from the academic year 2009 - 2010. Consequently, students admitted to several UG, PG And M.Phil courses during the academic year 2009 - 2010 will be under the autonomous pattern.
The school is very famous for the National Cadet Corps (NCC). The NCC has two Infantry (1 Tamil Nadu battalion) and armored wings (1 armored squadron of Tamil Nadu). The school has represented the contingent of Tamil Nadu for the Day of the Republic in New Delhi. The university cadets have won the "All India Best Cadet" award. The university cadets have also represented the nation as young ambassadors. The school conducts "CADOFEST" - Inter Collegiate competitions for NCC Cadets. CADOFEST marked its 25th year in 2007.
