IPPAM within the framework of the project is underway to build a mechatronic prosthesis under equipped with pneumatic artificial muscles. The aim of this PhD project is study of the influence of an actuated prosthesis to a step pattern of leg amputees. The rigidity of the prosthesis only adaptable, and there must be a certain torque can be delivered. Students are first asked to operate with a control panel (displays, knobs, ...) for the prosthesis design. The prosthesis must possess a number of operating modes. It must be possible for the pressures in the various pneumatic muscles manually. In addition, the system must have an automatic mode (where the muscle pressures brought on the basis of signals from footswitches) and finally the system should have a demo mode (to be determined). The prosthesis should be provided with the necessary sensors. More specifically it would be about: potentiometer (s) for corner detection ankle, foot switches to detect ground contact, pressure sensors (there already), which gauges the load (tension) in the prosthesis tube represent. Used on each sensor, the sensor value to be visualized through a display. Further information: Rino Versluys
