The Samsung Galaxy Camera is a point-and-shoot camera that is a mobile device based on Android. Samsung announced the camera in August 2012, with the motto "Reborn Camera". The device was officially launched on November 8, 2012, with web sales starting on November 7.
The camera features a 16-megapixel CMOS sensor and a 21x optical zoom, as well as Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity, and a GPS receiver by which the camera can take geotagged pictures. It runs on Android 4.1 "Jelly Bean" software and enables the organization on the camera, editing and online sharing or storage of images and videos. As with other Android devices, you can download other software from Google Play. However, voice calls can not be made on the Galaxy camera. This feature would be offered in its successor, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom.
