Diesel is consumed for various purposes and India depends to a large extent (around 80 percent) on imported crude oil (the main raw material) for its production. This in turn leads to a series of concerns that include, on the one hand, a mechanism that on the one hand influences the adoption of technology and the allocation of resources, while, on the other hand, impacts on the current account and the fiscal balance. As a result, the price of diesel and efforts to maintain its uninterrupted availability have attracted the attention of policy makers and decision makers in the automotive sector. There is a recent deregulation of the price of diesel in India, which will fairly affect the buying behavior of customers. The marginality of gasoline and diesel cars is the same. Then, after comparing all the factors when buying a car, the gasoline fits perfectly into the image of the customer's choice. These factors include the tax on diesel cars, the cost of fuel, the cost of maintenance, the resale value, etc. Car manufacturers must reflect on this recent fuel deregulation and plan the strategy according to the customer's perspective.
