There are many environmental problems in India. Air pollution, water pollution, waste and pollution of the natural environment are challenges for India. The situation was worse between 1947 and 1995. According to the data collection and environmental assessment studies conducted by World Bank experts, between 1995 and 2010, India has achieved one of the world's fastest developments to address Their environmental problems and improve their environmental quality. However, India has a long way to go to achieve an environmental quality similar to that of developed economies. Pollution remains an important challenge and opportunity for India. It is essential that the country knows these challenges so that its actions are ecological. Some of these challenges are:

1. Population in growth:

A population of more than billions of people is growing at 2.11 percent each year. It puts a lot of pressure on your natural resources and reduces the benefits of development. Therefore, the greatest challenge before us is to limit population growth. Although population control automatically leads to development, development leads to a decline in population growth rates.

2. Poverty:

India has often been described as a rich land with poor people. Poverty and environmental degradation have a link between them. The vast majority of our people depend directly on the country's natural resources to meet their basic needs for food, shelter for fuel and forage. About 40% of our population remains below the poverty line. The degradation of the environment has adversely affected the poor who depend on the resources of their immediate environment. Therefore, the challenge of poverty and the challenge of environmental degradation are two facts of the same challenge. Population growth is essentially a function of poverty. Because, for the very poor, every child is a salaried and helper and global concerns have little relevance to him.

3. Agricultural Growth:

People should be familiar with methods to sustain and increase agricultural growth with environmental damage. High yielding varieties have caused soil salinity and damage to the physical structure of the soil.

4. Need for groundwater:

It is essential to rationalize the use of groundwater. Factors such as community waste, industrial effluents and chemical fertilizers and pesticides have polluted our surface waters and affected the quality of groundwater. It is essential to restore the water quality of our rivers and other bodies of water such as lakes is a major challenge. It is essential to find our appropriate strategies for consecrating water, providing potable water and maintaining clean water bodies, which are difficult challenges.

5. Development and forests:

Forests serve river basins. With the increasing demand for water, plan to seize the mighty river through large irrigation projects were made. Certainly, these would submerge forests; Displacing the local population, damaging flora and fauna. As such, dams on the Narmada River, Bhagirathi and elsewhere have become areas of political and scientific debate. Forests in India have shrunk for centuries due to pressures from agriculture and other uses. Vast areas that were once green are now erected as wasteland. These areas must be returned under cover. The tribal communities that inhabit the forests respect the trees and the birds and the animals that support them. We must recognize the role of these people in the restoration and conservation of forests. Modern knowledge and skills of the forestry department. They should be integrated with the traditional knowledge and experiences of local communities. Strategies for joint management of forests should be developed in a well-planned manner.

6. Soil degradation:

At present, out of a total of 329 mha of land, only 266 mha have production potential. Of this, 143 mha are agricultural land almost and 85 suffer from varying degrees of soil degradation. Of the remaining 123 mha, 40 are completely unproductive. The remaining 83 mha are classified as forest lands, of which more than half are stripped to varying degrees. About 406 million head of cattle have to be supported by 13 mha, or less than 4 percent of the land classified as grassland, most of which are overgrazed. Thus, our 226 mha, around 175 mha or 66 percent degrades to varying degrees. Erosion of water and wind causes an additional degradation of almost 150 mha.

7. Reorientation of institutions:

The people must be awakened to orient institutions, attitudes and infrastructures, to adapt to the current conditions and needs. The change must be taken into account taking into account the traditions of India for the use of management resources and education, etc. Change must be taken to education, attitudes, administrative procedures and institutions. Because it affects the way people view technology resources and development.

8. Reduction of Genetic Diversity:

At present most of the wild genetic reserves have been disappearing from nature. Wilding including the Asian Lion face a problem of loss of genetic diversity. The network of protected areas such as sanctuaries, national parks, biosphere reserves are isolated populations. Therefore, changes from one brood group to another are decreasing. Corrective measures should be taken to control the decline in genetic diversity.

9. Bad consequences of urbanization:

Nearly 27 percent of Indians live in urban areas. Urbanization and industrialization have led to a large number of environmental problems requiring urgent attention. More than 30 percent of urban Indians live in slums. Of the 3,245 cities and towns in India, only 21 have partial or complete sewage and treatment facilities. Therefore, coping with rapid urbanization is a major challenge.

10. Population of air and water:

Most of our industrial plants are using outdated and population technologies and makeshift facilities devoid of any treatment provision for their waste. A large number of cities and industrial areas have been identified as the worst in terms of air and water pollution. The acts are enforced in the country, but their implementation is not so easy. The reason is that its implementation requires great resources, technical knowledge, political will and social. Again, people should be aware of these rules. Your support is essential to implement these rules.
