It then provides an insight into the world of Control & Automation, gives details of EBG group (Electrical & electronics operating division), C&A mission, industrial spectrum, brief description of the Automation Campus along with the area it covers, the services it provides, C&A wings, steps for project execution & about our workplace - DCS department.
The report also provides a brief idea on how power is generated and focuses mainly on the working of thermal power plants. It explains the distributed control system, its evolution & types & also describes the hardware and software architecture of Ge-Fanuc’s OC 4000 DCS and describes as to how exactly a DCS system controls a thermal power plant.
The report has been concluded on the grounds of work done throughout the training period.
Main purpose of us undergoing this in-plant training was to make us trainees familiar with an industrial atmosphere and understand the way people work & communicate in such an environment. Another major reason for our doing this training was to gain an exposure to the world of control and automation. Through this report, we hereby narrate a brief picture of what we have done, observed & learnt during our training tenure.
