NS2 is abbreviated to Network Simulator. It is a discrete event simulator that is able to simulate TCP, routing, multi-cast and many other protocols in variable layers through wired and wireless networks (local and satellite). It is written in C ++ and uses OTc1 (an object oriented exteNSion of Tc1 or Tool Command Language) as s command and configuration interface. NS-2 denotes the second version of NS since it has some substantial changes of NS v1. In 1989, NS appears as a variant of Real Network Simulator and has undergone substantial changes for these years 1 2. The development of NS gained the support of the VINT (Virtual INTnet) project funded by the United States Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) in 1995 and the CONSER project funded by the NSF later. Now, NS is maintained daily by USCISI. Each update of the NS version adopts codes provided by researchers around the world due to its open architecture and good extension. From this point of view, NS is a production of all the researchers involved. In short, NS-2 has several features. A discrete event simulator. The core of this is a din-Crete event planner implemented by a Scheduler C ++ class that is responsible for recording the current simulation time, scheduling events in the event queue, creating new events, and setting its launch time , etc.
