Concrete Canvas (CC) is a flexible concrete impregnated fabric that hardens when hydrated to form a thin, durable, waterproof and fire resistant concrete layer. CC allows the construction of concrete without the need for mixing facilities or equipment. Simply place the canvas and add water.
CC consists of a three-dimensional fiber matrix containing a specially formulated dry concrete mix. A PVC backing on a material surface ensures that the material is waterproof. The material can be hydrated by spraying or by complete immersion in water. Once established, the fibers reinforce the concrete, preventing the propagation of cracks and providing a safe plastic failure mode.
CC is available in 3 thicknesses: CC5, CC8 and CC13, which are 5, 8 and 13 mm thick, respectively. DC is used in a variety of civil infrastructure applications, such as trench lining, slope protection and plugging secondary containment edges.
Compared to traditional concrete solutions, CC is faster, easier and more cost effective to install and has the added benefit of reducing the environmental impact of concrete works by 95%.
