The additives are added to the concrete batch immediately before or during the mixing of the concrete. Concrete mixtures can improve concrete quality, workability, acceleration or delay of setting time among other properties that could be altered to obtain specific results. Many of today's concrete mixes contain one or more concrete mixtures that will help your pouring process decrease cost while increasing productivity. The cost of these blends will vary depending on the amount and type of additive used. All this will be added to the cost of cubic concrete / meter.
Chemical mixtures are the ingredients of concrete other than portland cement, water and aggregate that are added to the mixture immediately before or during mixing. Producers use mixtures primarily to reduce the cost of concrete construction; modify the properties of the hardened concrete; ensuring the quality of the concrete during mixing, transport, laying and curing; and to overcome certain emergencies during specific operations.
Successful use of additives depends on the use of appropriate dosing and concreting methods. Most blends are supplied in ready-to-use liquid form and are added to the concrete in the plant or workplace. Certain blends, such as pigments, blowing agents and pumping assistants, are used only in extremely small amounts and are usually welded by hand from pre-measured containers.
admix_17641 The effectiveness of a mixture depends on several factors, including: type and amount of cement, water content, mixing time, depression and temperatures of concrete and air. Effects similar to those obtained by adding mixtures can sometimes be achieved by altering the concrete mix, reducing the water-cement ratio, adding additional cement, using a different type of cement or by changing aggregation and aggregate gradation.
