Academic Technology staff will provide services on a fixed fee basis or hourly basis for the management and support of departmental computer labs and classrooms. This service will vary depending on the department's needs, but the most common option is to provide administration and maintenance for the computers in the same way as the student computing cluster locations. In this situation, departmental teams will be configured using standard configurations and software used in clusters. Departments may request inclusion of other software programs.
This service can also be customized to provide other environments if the typical cluster does not meet the needs of the department. The details of customizations would be negotiated between the department and the Academic Technology to establish a Service Level Agreement.
This service is only available for computers located in a computer cluster, a hands-on classroom, or a teaching lab. This service does not extend to faculty computers or departmental offices or research laboratories. The department must provide computers that need minimum specifications for the operating systems used by Academic Technology, and the computers must be on UNH Ethernet connections for the classic cluster management service. The department remains responsible for the purchase of all computers and any repair or maintenance of the hardware.
