Discipline, Conduct and Behavior

All students should follow the uniform dress code of the college inside the campus. Dress properly and neatly, befitting for an engineering student.

Behavior of the students, both within and outside the college premises should be decent and befitting to a professional institution.

The student should move silently when proceeding from one class without disturbing classes at work.

No student shall leave the class before the class is dispersed or without the permission of the teacher-in-charge of the class.

Students are prohibited from organizing or attending meetings on the college campus, distributing notices and collecting money for any purpose without the prior permission of the Principal..

Students should observe strict silence in library and internet lab. They should not make any disturbance to others.

Scribbling or etching on drawing boards, desks and writing on the wall are strictly prohibited.

Students should not misplace articles, furniture or books in the classrooms, laboratories or library

Under any circumstance, no student or staff or outsider is permitted to enter the classroom while classes are going on, without the permission of the staff member concerned..

Any type of ragging, teasing, torturing, or misbehavior to the junior students is strictly prohibited. Legal actions will be taken against those students who are found guilty as per the prevailing laws and directions of honorable courts.

INTRODUCTION

College of Engineering, Kidangoor (CEK), Kottayam is one among the premier institutions in the state. The college is governed by the Co-operative Academy of Professional Education established by the Government of Kerala. The admissions are based on the rank obtained by the students in the State Entrance examinations and functioning of the college is according to the rules and regulations formulated by the Government of Kerala. Now the institution is glistening with outstanding records in both academic and extracurricular fields backed by excellent faculty and full-fledged facilities.

The College is affiliated to Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) and APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).The admissions are as per the list forwarded by the Controller of Entrance Examinations, Kerala and functioning of the college is as per the rules and regulations formulated by the Government of Kerala and CAPE.

Government vide letter No. GOMS/136/2000/ Higher Education dated. 18.02.2000 accorded sanction for the establishment of the College of Engineering, Kidangoor under CAPE along with a few other Engineering Colleges. Cochin University of Science & Technology (CUSAT) issued No Objection Certificate vide their letter No. Ac.C3/441/1999 dated. 11.04.2000 for starting of the colleges under the aegis of CAPE. AICTE issued the viability certificate for starting of the College as per F. No. 770-54- 36/ET – NDEG/2000/V dated. 28.07.2000 based on the application from CAPE. This was subject to fulfilling requirements on buildings, furniture, equipments, staff etc. ‘COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING KIDANGOOR‘ commenced its activities on 18th August 2000.
