Computer Weekly has obtained copies of the key documents outlining the government’s ambitious plan to move the public sector IT infrastructure to the cloud.

Released by the Cabinet Office under Freedom of Information laws, the eight reports cover every aspects of the programme from its strategic vision to its technical architecture – and they make fascinating reading for an insight into the scope, scale and risks of such an enormously ambitious project.

G-Cloud is being reviewed by the coalition government and may be re-thought as a result of the need for spending cuts and to reduce risk, despite the enormous amount of work already completed and summarised in these documents.
