Abstract
This paper outlines some of the technical challenges that must be met, particularly with respect to handset radio design, that will allow coexistence between Cellular and WLAN modes of operation. Various aspects of coexistence are considered, such as the demands of the RF architecture, interference issues, chip set fabrication and cost issues. Conclusions are then drawn as to the defining aspects of WLAN and Cellular convergence
