In the age of fast food and takeaway food, many restaurants have opted to focus on fast and quick order delivery instead of offering a rich dining experience. Until recently, all of these delivery orders were placed to waiters or over the phone, but there are many disadvantages to this system, including the inconvenience of the customer who needs to have a physical copy of the menu, lack of a visual confirmation that the order was Correctly placed, and the need for the canteen to have an employee answering the phone and taking orders. What we propose is a Cantina Automation System, which is a technique of ordering online food applicable in any food delivery industry. The main advantage of this system is that it greatly simplifies the ordering process for both the customer and the canteen. When the customer visits the order page, they are presented with an interactive and updated menu, which includes all available options and dynamically adjusts prices according to the selected options. After making a selection, the item is added to your order, which the customer can see the details of at any time before leaving. This provides an instant visual confirmation of what was selected and ensures that the order elements are, in fact, what was intended.
This system also greatly alleviates the load at the end of the canteen, as the entire order-taking process is automated. Once an order is placed on the web page, it is entered into the database and retrieved, almost in real time, by a desktop application at the end of the canteen. Within this application, all the elements of the order, along with their corresponding options and delivery details, are shown in a concise and easy to read manner. This allows canteen employees to quickly move through the orders as they are placed and produce the necessary items with a minimum of delay and confusion.
