. INTRODUCTION TO SUBJECT

The acronym IOP means Industry Oriented Project. The intension to put this subject in the curriculum is to expose students to the industry environment. This should include study of industry, their working but keeping in mind one thing that focus must be on role of software systems in industry. Also study the software development phases.
It will help students to understand software development life cycle more precisely and in a practical way. This pre-exposure to the industry will facilitate students to work properly in industries. This subject will help to develop the skills of team coordination and software problem tackling techniques in the students that will help them in near future.


HISTORY OF COMPANY

Carlsberg was founded by J. C. Jacobsen. The first brew was finished on 10 November 1847.Exportation of Carlsberg Beer began in 1868. Foreign brewing began in 1968 with the opening of a Carlsberg brewery in Blantyre, Malawi.
Some of the company's original logos include an elephant (after which some of its lagers are named) and the swastika. Use of the latter was discontinued in the 1930s because of its association with political parties in neighboring Germany.
Carlsberg founder J. C. Jacobsen was a philanthropist and avid art collector. With his fortune he amassed an impressive art collection which is now housed in the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek in central Copenhagen. Jacobsen set up the Carlsberg Laboratory in 1875 which worked on scientific problems related to brewing. It featured a Department of Chemistry and a Department of Physiology. The species of yeast used to make pale lager, Saccharomyces carlsbergensis, was isolated at the Laboratory and was named after it.


BRANCHES OF CARLSBERG BREWERIES

Branches of Carlsberg Breweries are spread all over the world.
In India, there are six branches of Carlsberg Breweries listed as below:
1) MIA Extensions in Alwar, Rajasthan
2) South Asia Beverages in Aurangabad, Maharashtra in the summer of 2008.
3) Hacke-Beck brewery in Ponta Sahib, Himachal Pradesh in July 2007.
4) Kondapur, Dist. Medak, Andhra Pradesh
5) Gurgaon, Haryana
6) Hoogly, West Bengal


WORKING STRATEGY OF COMPANY

Direct responsibility for all Brewing process from milling to Unitank.
Plan production and carry it out as planned. Coordination with other department.
Participate in the actual carrying out the Manufacturing plans.
Check for raw material position, calibration status of requisite equipments, and line clearance for production.
Give out utility requirements to respective department. See the staff position in the production and assign specific day-to-day duties.
Closely monitor all the activities that require high-level skill, Understand the training needs of the staff and inform the seniors same.
Look for deviation in the process and take quick step to resolve the same.


Special Brew


Special Brew is a strong lager brewed in Denmark and the United Kingdom. It was initially brewed by Carlsberg to commemorate a visit to Denmark by Winston Churchill in 1950. In May 1951 two crates were delivered to Churchill's London home. In a thank you letter Churchill called the drink "Commemoration Lager". In Denmark the drink was called Påskebryg (Easter Brew), but the Easter Brew has been replaced by a weaker beer (Carls Påske). For the British market Carlsberg called the drink Special Brew and production was started in Northampton in the 1950s.
At 9% alcohol, Special Brew is part of a group of strong lagers that are termed "super-strength" in the UK and malt liquor in the USA. This beer is associated with binge drinking amongst vagrants.
