A Bluetoot-based Wireless Personal
Area Network (WPAN) designed for multimedia
communication is described in this article. This can be handy for sharing of media betwee portable and distributed smart
electronic devices within a short-range. The WPAN is a
new standard under the IEEE802.15 standard and is under development. wires between electronic and computing equipmentcan be completely removed by the use of this technology. providing
connectivity to larger networks through a convenient
transmission medium is also among the aims of the technology. hardware and

software coding for design based on the Bluetooth protocol stack
is implemented in this article. Various tests are performed in the laboratory
environment and the results of these tests are also given in the article for benchmarking.

Bluetooth Connectivity
The Bluetooth standard is developed around the ISM band using the frequency hopped Spread Spectrum (FHSS) technique as the medium access control protocol. 1 MHz spaced channels are formed in the comunicating channel and this is used for the communication. Each of the channels each supporting data rate of 1 Mbps.
