Device communication capabilities and continuous transparent information paths are indispensable components of future-oriented automation concepts. Communication is rapidly increasing in the industrial environment, even at the field level. In any industry the process can be performed through sensors and can be controlled through actuators. The process is monitored in the central control room by obtaining signals through a pair of cables from each field device in DCS (Distributed Control Systems). With the advent of the network concept, the cost of wiring is saved by networking the field devices. But the latest trend is the elimination of cables, that is, wireless networks. This article describes the main principles, applications and problems of wireless sensor networks based on Bluetooth, as well as the implementation of a simple network of sensors based on Bluetooth. The main problems experienced during the implementation and the implemented solutions are presented.
