INTRODUCTION TO BLACK BOX


A black box is a device for assisting investigation into aircraft accidents .these are often the lone survivour of airplane accident.

These are fully automatic for and forget operation with memory mechanism that would store pilot’s voice and instrument readings up to the moment of accident.

Solid State Technology

Solid state uses stacked arrays of memory chips, so they don't have moving parts. With no moving parts, there are fewer maintenance issues and a decreased chance of something breaking during a crash.


FLIGHT DATA RECORDER


The flight recorder register on tape or wire, information about the functioning of the aircraft and it’s system such as speed, direction, altitude and relevant detail during the flight.

These are sensors that are wired from various areas on the plane to the flight data acquisition unit , which is wired to FDR.

When a switch is turned on or off that operation is recorded by the FDR.
