PURPOSE;
This Operational Control Procedure is to ensure proper maintenance of Oxidation Pond.
LOCATION:
Oxidation Pond.
RESPONSIBILITY:
Maintenance in-charge, Housekeeping in-charge
PROCEDURE;
 Ensure proper flow of used water from toilets and canteen to the oxidation pond.
 Maintain the oxidation pond free from floating foreign bodies.
 Ensure no waste oil flows to the oxidation pond.
 The water quality is tested by external agency monthly once for parameters as per the Testing Standards from the external laboratories and report acknowledged by KSPCB
 The procedure of carrying out the tests for various parameters as per Testing Standards is given in Lab Procedure as per IS Standard IS 3025.
 The water from oxidation pond is used for gardening after ensuring water tests results are within the prescribed limits.
 The sludge from oxidation pond is used for manure.

VERIFICATION:

a) The results of measurements are checked by maintenance in-charge in order to ensure that they meet the statutory & regulatory requirements.
b) The maintenance in-charge also verifies the calibration records of the measuring instruments used in order to ensure validity of calibration.

CORRECTION & CORRECTIVE ACTIONS:

In case of any deviations the maintenance in-charge raise non-conformance report. Maintenance in-charge ensures corrections & corrective actions are taken without undue delay.

RECORDS:

a) Records of results of measurements done daily and analysis of monthly results.
b) Records of calibration of monitoring and measuring instruments

All the above-mentioned records are retained for three years for analysis and to identify opportunities for continual improvements.
