AUTOMATIC BANK TELLER MACHINE FOR THE BLIND AND VISUALLY IMPAIRED

The ATM uses a touch-sensitive display screen that has a fixed, easy to locate touch scanning zone. This ATM uses a combination of simple visual cues, large-type visual displays, audio, and a touch-sensitive display screen to facilitate use of the ATM by the blind. The display screen operates by touching the screen with a fingertip.
Earlier, braille instructions were used. But even with this, the person did not know when to deposit the envelope, when to withdraw cash etc.

Working:
This ATM provides many audible clues to the blind about different steps in withdrawing and other operations. There are also coarse visual clus such as LED indicators of important parts like cash dispenser slot, bank card reader slot etc.
and also large displays which are easy to read by the visually impaired with reduced visual activity.
The main feature is a touch sensitive visual- display screen which acts as a customer I/O device.It can recognize an input corresponding to the touch, and then , while maintaining the contact with the screen, moving to a new location corresponding to a new input selection. When the contact is broken, the given input is recognized.
