The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has put in place a regulation because it will be charged for the excess of transactions in the bank itself (automatic teller machines). As of November 1, banks have been allowed to charge if you make transactions more than five times a month at your own bank's ATM. The restriction of free transactions of own banks is applicable throughout the country. In addition, only three transactions will be free at the ATMs of other banks, compared to five earlier. But this limit applies only in six metro cities: Mumbai, New Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Bangalore and Hyderabad. It does not necessarily have to be withdrawal of money. Even non-financial instructions such as the balance inquiry, the chequebook application and the mini declaration request will be included in this limit. For non-metro users, the number of free ATM transactions of another bank will remain five. Some banks, however, continue to allow free transactions, for a limited period.
