ARTIFICIAL EMOTION ENGINE
Emotions

Emotion is a necessary part of life, affecting how we feel, how we behave and think. Indeed, emotion makes us smart. Sure, utility and usability are important, but without fun and pleasure, joy and excitement, and yes, anxiety and anger, fear and rage, our lives would be incomplete. Emotion work more quickly, and its role is to make judgments-this is good, this is bad, this is safe etc.
Introduction
The emotion AI engine is a compact library that will allow developers to easily and efficiently add the power of emotional behaviour simulation to their applications.
Interest in this area has increased with the emergence of the field of affective computing- creating machines with artificial emotions. To implement convincing emotions in machines requires an understanding of our own, whilst considering the benefits of doing so may help to explain the emergence of emotion in humans in the first place. Thus if emotions are beneficial for humans, it follows that creating machines with an emotive capacity may be helpful for our interaction with them, and more questionably for the machines' interaction with the environment.
• Need for this Engine
• Old age homes.
• Home Robots.
• In case of paralysis.
. For bringing up children .
. Animals
Construction & Working
VISION: Cameras are placed at the eye part.3 degree of freedom for gaze direction and 3 degree of freedom to control its neck.
AUDITORY: Speech synthesizer .By adjusting the parameters of the synthesizer it is possible to convey speaker personality .
EXPRESSION:
Perk its ears in an interested fashion, or fold them back in a manner reminiscent of an angry animal. Each eyebrow can lower and furrow in frustration, elevate upwards for surprise, or slant the inner corner of the brow upwards for sadness. Each eyelid can open and close independently, allowing the robot to wink an eye or blink both. The engine has four lip actuators, one at each corner of the mouth, that can be curled upwards for a smile or downwards for a frown.
Can robots have emotions?
Future Work
Simulating human emotion is an endeavor that is very much open ended, at least for the next twenty years or so. The researchers plan to add cognitive processing of some sort to the system and also migrate the systems modules to a neural network based representation.
Conclusion
If we do succeed in creating genuinely emotional engines, then this (alongside artificial intelligence) is seen by many as a challenge to our status as anything more than machines ourselves, since it removes a means of distinguishing artificial from natural. But regardless of the challenge to our own humanity, robots with feelings raise their own special set of ethical questions, that have been explored more by science fiction than by proper science.
