Students need to complete the training form at their university and direct it to the General Manager of the Human Resource Development Center at the BHEL office they wish to intern. BHEL does not receive personal applications unless you have a strong contact there. The whole process of hiring interns is subject to the availability of mentors / guides and is not very transparent. Students must pay approximately INR 500 per week for internship.
What after applying?
There is no fixed interview process at BHEL. Inmates who come in contact do not require any type of detection. Some inmates are interviewed over the phone and are asked to provide a letter of recommendation by a BHEL employee. Examples of questions that could be asked in the telephone interview are-
- What products does BHEL treat?
- Which division of BHEL are you interested in?
- How would that division help your career?
- What is the most interesting topic for you in your branch?
