Advantage and disadvantage of Manually operated coconut dehusking machine

Abstract:

Generally, coconuts are manually removed through the machete or spike. These methods require skilled labor and are tired to use. The efforts made so far in the development of Dahesing equipment are not effective in partially successful and manual changing. Keeping in mind the shortcomings of manual dehusking methods, and the existing automatic dehusker, electric powered coconut dehusking machine was developed. This power driven coconut dehusking machine is operated on 1 phase, 1 HP electric motor. It consists of the main parts of the frame, electric motor, speed reduction unit and detuscitting unit. A person is required to operate dehusker. During the tests, the average time required to coconut was found 25 seconds, and the machine could remove 120-150 coconuts per hour.
