There are four basic inductor construction factors that determine the amount of inductance created. All these factors dictate the inductance by affecting the amount of magnetic field flux to be developed for a given amount of magnetic field strength (current through the inductor wire coil):
NUMBER OF WIRE ROLLS, OR "TURNS" ON THE COIL: All other factors are equal, a greater number of turns of wire in the coil results in a greater inductance; less wire turns in the coil results in less inductance.
Explanation: More wire turns mean that the coil will generate a greater amount of magnetic field strength (measured in amplifier-turns!), For a given amount of coil current.
